A Start Up Company Gets Started
Optimise4 - Assists start -up
Objective: The recently retired Chief Executive wanted to become and entrepreneur. Rather than invest his pension pot in a trust fund, shares or property, he wanted to paint, and to help fellow painters.
Activity: This was without doubt one of our more obscure challenges. We are not painters and know only of the painters we were obliged to study while at school. But here was a retiring man with time on his hands to follow a dream.
Services: One of our more arty Associates took up the challenge to combine one man's desire to paint with his intent to invest in painting talent. A number of options were considered before realising that his animal portraits were stunning. This was a talent that had laid dorment since his art A level.
Outcome: The Associate suggested he look at the internet for like minded painters. They found a web site where up and coming painters could upload their work for appraisal by peers. To join this web site the retiree invested in state of the art digital camera technology, printer and PC art software. As a result of this investment he is now taking lucrative animal commissions.
Value: Although he never made the investment in fellow painters he found the internet and found a chat room for like minded animal artists. His wife is now content to play golf knowing her newly retired husband is fully occupied. There might be a sequel to this story as Optimise4 set up the Company for him and he is determined to find something at which he can be an entrepreneur. We are talking as we write!
